Sunday School Classes
Bridgebuilders, 9:30, Wesley Hall
These 250 senior adults ages 61ā93 make up the largest and one of the most active classes in the church. They are a warm, caring, supportive group of Christians who share each other's burdens and celebrate each other's joys, all while studying to strengthen their faith and deepen their knowledge of God's word. Average attendance is 150.

Covenant, 9:30, D219
The Covenant Class focuses on discussing the Bible as it relates to life. The class consists of couples and singles age 41 to 63 with school-age children. Average attendance is 25. The Covenant Class believes in participating in group projects in the community and has regular gatherings outside of class.
Discovery, 9:30, D216
The Discovery Class members range in age from 40 up. Members are involved in many area of church life with many assisting with Sunday children's ministries. Most have school-age children. Class lessons use the discussion format and cover a variety of topics selected by a programming team. The class sponsors service projects throughout the year and has frequent adult or family social events. Average attendance is 25.
Family Connections, 9:30, D222
This class is composed of families meeting to worship and focus on enriching family life through personal and communal growth with God, family, Sunday school class, churches and community. All families and visitors welcome. Current age range 20'sā40's. Come grow with them! Average attendance is 15.
Friendship, 9:30, A103
This class of singles and couples of 50 years has an average attendance of 30. Lessons are taught by our members and by outside speakers who cover wide-ranging, typically Methodist subjects. Outreach efforts include making sandwiches for the Soupmobile, support for the House of Amos, Larkin Street, the Methodist Children's Home and other mission projects. We enjoy periodic parties, outings and social events. Visitors are welcome!
Genesis, 9:30, D217
Genesis is a class of couples in their mid-40's to 60's who through their prayer, study, lively weekly discussions and fellowship seek to nurture their continued growth in the Spirit of Christ and to share their gifts through active participation in the life of the church and the community. Attendance ranges from 25.
Good News Class, 11:00, D220
Mostly couples, ages 50 , are members of this class with an average attendance of 55. Varied class lessons including lecture and spirited discussions are taught by members and outside teachers. Outreach includes Soupmobile, Larkin Center, MAM, etc. Varied social activities are enjoyed also.
Kindred Souls, Sunday, 9:30, A201
Offering a group setting for women who attend church alone, whether single or married, this class follows the Adult Bible Study Series and is led by class members. Attendance averages 7ā10. Visitors and new members are welcome. Age range is 35ā54.
New Horizons, Sunday, 9:30, D127
New Horizons is a supportive group of single adults age 48 . Class session include interaction with teachers. Socials include regular outings and lunch after church. The House of Amos and Larkin Community Center are strongly supported by the class. Average attendance is 16.
Probers, 9:30, D220
The Probers regard themselves as analytical, mature individuals with a lively interest in the values of today's society as they relate to Christians. They host a variety of outside speakers on issues of interest as well as make use of the class members' expertise in teaching. By probing into the hard questions, they foster lively discussion. Class outings are fun, both home and abroad, and they offer a caring and supportive environment for both church and community. Average attendance is 38 and they welcome visitors and new members (couples and singles).
Ragamuffins, 9:30, F128
We are singles of all ages who are willing to admit our imperfections and are interested in growing spiritually toward perfection! We enjoy short-term studies presented in a discussion format. Some of those studies include The Ragamuffin Gospel, The Gift of the Blessing and When God Doesn't Answer Your Prayer. We support and encourage each other as we travel this journey called life. We support all who have grown weary and discouraged along the way. Average attendance is 25.
Roots, 9:30, CC462
This class is for parents (ages 40 ) of 9th graders through college. The focus is on Bible study and family issues. The class is a great support group for many of our youth ministry events, such as workcamps and the Soupmobile. Average attendance is 27. Come join us in our room in The Connection Center. Visitors are warmly welcomed!
Sunrizons, 9:30, D218
Comprised of mostly singles in their mid 30's and 60's, Sunrizons is a Sunday school class of dynamic and energetic individuals. Their members are very active within the church and within the community. Along with weekly class they host Bible Studies, service projects and social events. Average attendance is 30.
Thursday Night Class, Thursdays at 7:15 p.m., CC460
Married couples and singles are 49 and up. This class meets September through May to study a variety of subjects led by outside teachers. This group likes to get involved in discussion and sponsors an annual Christmas project. Average attendance is 25.
Upper Room, 9:30, Library (A104)
Adults of all ages meet for a serious, but lively, study of the Bible. Average attendance is 12. Believing that Bible study is a "contact sport of the mind and heart", class members are responsible for leading the discussions each Sunday. One book of the Bible is studied in depth alternating between Old Testament to New Testament. All ages, married or single, are welcome to join this group.
Visions, 9:30, D126
Married couples in their 20's through 40's focus on Bible study and its application to their daily lives. Monthly social events provide opportunities for developing relationships, and service projects put faith into action. Frequent get-togethers are planned for the adults only and frequent events include the children of class members. The class offers support and encouragement for families of the class. Visitors are warmly welcomed.
Watermark, 9:30, CC460
We are couples, 40 and up, with teenagers. We study scripture using a Bible study guide or stand-alone lessons. Members take turns leading our small, interactive group. Average attendance is 20.
Young Adult Sunday School, 9:30 a.m., D221
This class of singles and couples in their 20s and 30s focus on studying the Bible and Christian concepts in an accepting environment. We may open a book of the Bible and study it chapter by chapter, or watch movies then discuss its theological implications in our lives. We have a blast! We would love for you to join us anytime.
