All In is MDUMC's invitation to see everything we have as a gift, use it faithfully, and become people who give — together. It's four Sundays, one shared question, and a next step sized for wherever you're starting from.
John Wesley's three rules for the use of money
Our founder's own answer to "what do I do with what I have?" — not a modern fundraising formula. Each rule gets its own Sunday this October, building toward one whole-life commitment.
Gain all you can
Use your God-given abilities faithfully, productively, and ethically. A teaching about vocation and responsibility — not a promise of prosperity.
Save all you can
Resist waste, excess, and consumption so resources stay free for higher purposes. Simplicity and contentment — not fear-driven accumulation.
Give all you can
Direct what you have toward God's work and your neighbors' flourishing. The first two rules find their purpose in this one.
Generosity is a family practice, not a family expense.
All In isn't only asking parents for a number — it's inviting your whole household into a practice you can build together, at a scale that fits a young family's season of life.
A next step, not a threshold
Every family takes a step from where they actually are — whether that's your first pledge ever or an intentional increase. There's no minimum that makes you "in."
Kids get their own pledge, too
Alongside the household commitment, children are invited to bring a coin jar, a chore commitment, or a drawing of who they'll help — brought forward on Commitment Sunday right alongside the grown-ups' cards.
A four-week devotional, written for the whole table
Each week's take-home guide includes a version simple enough for elementary-age kids, so the dinner-table conversation matches the Sunday sermon.
Childcare, every Sunday of the series
Nursery and kids' programming run as usual through all four weeks, including Commitment Sunday — come as you are, kids and all.

A pledge is a prayerful estimate of what you intend to give to the church's operating budget during 2027. It helps MDUMC plan faithfully — it is not a legal obligation, and it can change if your circumstances do.

No. It's a prayerful estimate that helps the church budget responsibly for 2027 — not a legal obligation. You can adjust it any time your circumstances change.
Who sees what I give?
Individual giving and pledge records are kept confidential and are handled only by the finance team members responsible for church financial administration.
Can I give without naming an amount?
Yes — there's an option to participate in All In without estimating a dollar figure. Presence and intention count as a real response.
Can my family set up recurring giving?
Yes — the pledge card includes information for setting up or adjusting recurring gifts (monthly, weekly, or another rhythm that fits your household).
What if I can't pledge at all right now?
You're still fully part of All In. Every household is invited to take a faithful next step, and for some seasons that step isn't financial — it's welcome exactly as it is.
