“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
Filling out an Estimate of Giving card for 2026 helps our church leaders prepare a fiscally responsible budget and spending plan for the year ahead. By knowing how you plan to give, we know what resources are available to fund our ministries, programs, and operations.
Estimate of Giving cards are available at the church office during the week, and at the Journey or in the Sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Bring your completed card to worship on Sunday, November 16 for our Commitment Sunday. In each worship service that day, we will set aside a special time to commit ourselves to God and to the difference-making ministries of Memorial Drive UMC.
Or, you can fill out an online Estimate of Giving with this secure form.

Since the very beginning of the church, giving money to God through the church has been a core practice of Christians the world over. Giving is a way that we show obedience to God and love for God. It is also a way that we worship God and grow spiritually.
And, because it’s an act of worship, giving ought to be something we do on purpose. That is, our giving ought to be intentional. Through scripture, God guides us to the practice of proportional giving — that is, giving a particular percentage of our income. You can’t give proportionally without thinking about it ahead of time and without being intentional.

Tithing is the Christian practice of giving 10% of one’s total income to God through the church. Tithing is the biblical standard of proportional giving for God’s people, and the word “tithe,” literally means “ten percent.” For Christians, it’s the portion that belongs to God, which we return to God as an act of obedience, love, and worship.
